The Lonely Little Kissing Gate

Kissing Gates are sociable little things, always ready to welcome the next passing traveller, sending each on their way with a little bit of love but pity the gate who sees no one for days, who sits alone waiting through countless hours. This poems is a little tribute to all the lonely little kissing gates who spend more time waiting and wondering when they will next be able to share a little bit of love.

There stood a little kissing gate,

Alone amid a moor.

To be a lonely kissing gate,

Is something of a bore.

She couldn't get much kissing done,

And waiting's really not that fun.

Poor lonely little kissing gate,

Alone amid a moor.
